Canine v Feline Chest Anatomy Tutorial by Daesiy Canine v Feline Chest Anatomy Tutorial by Daesiy

Another one!!! xDDD

This time on chests since a lot of people tend to have trouble with this.

REMEMBER: I am not an expert at this, I am just a high school student who enjoys observing anatomy. These are just some of my observations. I am not forcing this on you. The best way to learn anatomy is from studying life and photos!

You may reference/ trace off of this tutorial, though I do recommend studying photos/ life as well!

Sorry it's so sketchy, I'm really tired. xDDD

i have been wanting to try to draw animals for ages D; but i keep looking for animal anatomy books with little tricks like human anatomy has. i can't find ANYTHING. ughhh

THESE THREE TUTORIALS HAS HELPED ME MORE THAN HOURS IN BOOK STORES TRYING TO FIND INFO LIKE THIS
THANK YOU SO MUCH<333 :iconsnugplz: I WILL BE USING THESE TUTORIALS LIKE MY FELYNE/CANINE BIBLE D;

one thing: do you have any tricks to help people with how big a skull is on them? like... how many heads long should a cat be, how many for a canine, how many heads tall, etc? that helped me a lot with human anatomy, and i am searching desperately for a trick like this for animals D; it helped me structure humans like CRAZY.

Very nice, though I would add that there are differences between wild and domestic versions of cats and dogs. The thing I noticed most is that wild canids, like wolves, have very narrow chests and ribcages, and the forelegs especially of a wolf will be very close together.

These tutorials are amazing. I have such problems drawing animals. This could possibly be the most amazing thing I have ever stumbled across. o:

It's true, studying photos are real life is really the best way to learn. Though I notice that when it's people I'm studying, I stare at them too long. XD

Great job on these--seriously. Like... I knew all these things but having a visual reference and extra explanation is always helpful. You should be proud of yourself. c:

Agreed. I have to admit, i used to not give a flying f*** about anatomy. After a while though, i started to look up cat pictures and stuff, to try and get anatomy right. Now, i like, work hard to improve XD

Daesiy, if you read this, thanks so much, the chest thing about it being fat really helped XD

Occasionally you can't even find their anatomy. If you don't have much form to your drawing, well, shading. It's good. People should use it.

In some styles, drawing cats with fluffy chests makes it look adorable. But mostly people do it because it's easier.

Note you said fluffy. This tut is mostly about bodily structure rather than what covers it. XD
And as she said: anything that looks like a chest on a feline is usually just fluff or extra fat or extra skin.

I never realized how many mistakes I made up until seeing this. This is going to help improve my art so much, thank you so much for sharing this! You're a master at anatomy! I thin I should definitely use my animal drawing books a lot more, because I didn't know half of this stuff - WHICH IS REALLY BAD. Don't see why I have any fans if I can't get an animal's structure right xD
Thanks again!
