Allllright. So this is =MoonlightLyanti's watcher kiriban prize. She ended up being my 600th watcher, so I decided that I should draw her something. :3
I'm not going to do a watcher kiriban like this again, however. I realized that it's unfair to my long-time watcher to just reward new watchers. For my next watcher kiriban (1,000 watchers) I'm going to go through the list of people who watch me and randomly click on names and draw sketches for the people who are picked. I think That's a more fair system. :3
Back to the 600+ watchers, thank you all so much! You all make my time on DA so interesting, fun and rewarding. I wouldn't be where I am without all of you guys. <33 Your support really makes me happy like nothing else can. You guys rock!!! <333
About the drawing.... This was soooo fun to do. 8D I'm trying to get as much of my owed art done before I return to school on September 1st. After that I won't have much free time, so yeah. =/ Anyways, a had tons of fun playing with the colors on this one. I was nearly done when I though to myself....... IT NEEDS PINK. So I added the blossoms and I really think it brings more life to the pic. :3 I also discovered that I'm terrible at drawing hair tufts on wolves. xDDDD It just doesn't work out well for me.
Oh, and I tried signing it with my real name as aopposed to my screen name. x3 Just to mix things up a bit, ya'know? Whenever I try to write "Dae" in my own handwriting it just looks ugly. xD
Gosh this is just really gorgeous, your shading is so silky smooth. I'm honestly gonna have to nit-pick to find stuff to critique here x3
I really, really like how you drew the wolf, her face is done really well; the ears and the eye-area especially have great structure. I can really only find a few minor things to point out, first being that her hair seems a bit pasted-on since it isn't making a shadow on her face, nor is the ear casting a shadow on it. The nose looks a little squished, the nostrils shouldn't be touching the "rim" on it, and I think your whisker pads are drawn a bit too bulbous. Probably the only other thing I would suggest is to make the markings blend in with the fur a bit more, the markings on her back and chest look a bit painted-on as opposed to in the grain of the hair.
Again, I'm nitpicking here x3 You have the basics down wonderfully.
I like the simplistic bg a lot, but it strikes me as a bit flat. Try adding some less-blurred greenery closer to the wolf, or in the foreground to cement your subject into the background. You could even draw some larger, blurred flower petals/leaves in the air in front of her to create some depth.
Thank you so much! <3 I really appreciate the second critique. You really look into the details of a picture, which is really awesome. :3
I see what you mean with the hair looking pasted on. Now that I look back at it it looks very much like some sort of hair sticker. x3 I've been meaning to look more into the structure of wolf noses, I winged it on this one. xD
Do you think it's the shading that makes the whisker pads too bulbous, or the initial sketch was just off?
I see what you mean about the background being flat. I'm going to try another simple bg soon to see if I can pull it off better.
Again, thank you so much for the in-depth critique! I appreciate it very, very much that you take the time to write it. :3
Awesomely awesome as usual
I loved doing those eyes. 8D They were so fun.

Overall though, job really well done!
